PLAN FOR RETURN TO IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION (HYBRID MODEL) & VIDEOS

September 18, 2020

Dear Bryant Families,

As you know, per state order, we started the year in distance learning. During this time, we have been working on our plan for students to return to campus.

We have been, and will continue to work on our schedule for all students who want to return to in-person classes. Students will only be allowed to return under certain conditions set by the state and the county, which include students wearing masks at all times, being physically distanced, and engaging in health and safety practices. Because classrooms cannot accommodate all students at the same time, teachers will see students in groups or cohorts, called a hybrid model. The hybrid model of instruction includes five days of partial in-person instruction with your child’s teacher in a safe learning environment, as well as distance learning with asynchronous and independent standards-based assignments that are linked to the daily lessons being taught in class.

A sample hybrid schedule for our district is below for your reference. A color-coded hybrid schedule specific to Bryant is also attached to this Parent Square Message.

HEALTH & SAFETY
The hybrid model allows our school to implement a variety of new health and safety protocols including symptom screening, physical distancing, frequent hand washing, stringent campus cleaning and disinfecting procedures, mask wearing, and more. Additional information about these protocols as well as designated entrance and exit protocols will be shared in an upcoming communication.

MEALS
We will have a Grab-and-Go meal program that allows students to safely eat their breakfast, lunch, and snack at home, or at school, if participating in an extended supervision program.

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation will continue to be provided for eligible students who reside within our attendance boundaries. Trained transportation personnel will properly clean all buses following CDC guidelines.

We understand that this is a very challenging time for our families and especially our students. Please know that we are all working together to provide a safe and productive learning environment for all of our students and staff.

Now that you have received our in-person schedule, over the next few weeks we will be working with you in various ways to ensure that your questions are addressed.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this unprecedented time to plan for our students to return to in-person instruction.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding our school plan, please feel free to call me at 714/663-6451.

Always for kids,

Tanya DeLeon
